SAL Pipeline Intelligence v1.3, Release Notes
Released: June 29, 2026 | Type: Feature release | Breaking changes: None | Affected agents: SAL
This release extends SAL's research and outreach capabilities with three improvements that operators asked for in the first deployment cohort: the ability to incorporate intent signal data, deeper account research quality, and more expressive outreach personalization at the account level.
What Changed in v1.3
Intent Signal Integration
Intent data is one of the most underused signals in outbound sales. When a company is actively researching topics relevant to your product category, consuming content, running searches, comparing vendors, the timing of your outreach changes from cold to highly relevant. Reaching a prospect during an active consideration window produces materially different reply rates than the same message sent six weeks earlier.
SAL v1.3 introduces intent signal ingestion as a priority layer in prospect research. When connected to an intent data source through IAN's integration settings, SAL now evaluates each prospect in the pipeline against current intent signal status. Accounts showing active engagement with topic categories aligned with the operator's product are elevated in the outreach priority queue.
This does not change which accounts SAL researches, it changes the sequence in which it reaches them. High-intent accounts move to the front of each outreach cycle. Low-intent accounts remain in the pipeline but are deprioritized until their intent signal improves or a defined cycle window requires outreach regardless.
What this looks like in the briefing: SAL's pipeline section now includes an intent status column showing whether each active prospect has positive, neutral, or low current intent signal. Accounts elevated due to intent are tagged with an intent indicator. The weekly pipeline briefing includes an intent overview showing how the overall pipeline maps against intent signal distribution.
Connecting intent data: IAN supports connections to major intent data providers through the integration settings panel. If you do not currently use a dedicated intent data provider, SAL continues operating with existing research signals, intent integration is additive and optional.
Enhanced Prospect Research Depth
Research quality has been materially improved. SAL's prospect research in v1.2 pulled contact information, company background, and basic industry context. v1.3 adds:
Recent company activity signals. SAL now surfaces recent news, announcements, funding events, leadership changes, and other company activity that provides context for timing and message relevance. An account that just announced a new product line is a different outreach situation than one that has had no significant news in eighteen months.
Decision-maker profile depth. For each identified decision maker, SAL now surfaces professional background context beyond job title: recent LinkedIn activity signals (within IAN's access scope), published content or commentary, and role tenure. This context informs message relevance at the individual level, not just the company level.
Competitive context. SAL can now identify whether a prospect company shows signals of existing vendor relationships in the relevant category, press mentions, job postings, technology stack signals. This informs outreach positioning: a prospect currently using a direct competitor is a different message than a prospect with no apparent incumbent.
Research quality indicator. Each account in the SAL pipeline now has a research quality score: High, Standard, or Limited. High indicates that all research dimensions are well-populated. Limited indicates that public information about the account is sparse and the research reflects that constraint. This allows operators to set appropriate expectations about personalization depth by account.
Account-Level Outreach Customization
SAL's outreach sequences have historically been configured at the campaign level: you set the sequence for a campaign, and all accounts in that campaign follow the same sequence with variable substitution for name, company, and basic context.
v1.3 introduces account-level sequence customization within a campaign. Operators can now define account-specific sequence modifications, different opening context, different message positioning, different timing, without creating a separate campaign for each variation.
How it works: In the account detail view, operators can add account-level customization notes. These notes are incorporated into SAL's outreach preparation for that specific account. The sequence structure remains the campaign default; the content reflects the account-specific context.
What this enables: An account where a referral relationship exists can have SAL open the outreach with the referral context. An account in a specific vertical can have SAL use vertical-specific framing from the first message. An account that SAL's research has identified as having a specific known pain point can have SAL lead with that point rather than the generic campaign positioning.
This is not unlimited customization, it works within SAL's outreach parameters, but it meaningfully increases the range of appropriate personalization SAL can produce without requiring operator-by-operator manual drafting.
Improved Pipeline Stage Tracking
Pipeline stage transitions are now tracked with timestamps and enriched with transition reasons. For each stage movement, prospect entered queue, first outreach sent, response received, qualification confirmed, proposal sent, closed, SAL records when it happened and what context precipitated the transition.
This data serves two purposes. First, it surfaces directly in ZED's weekly pipeline briefing, giving operators a clear view of where velocity is strong and where the pipeline is stalling. If every prospect that receives a first outreach moves to active conversation but very few active conversations progress to qualification, the briefing highlights that stage as the friction point.
Second, it feeds SAL's own calibration. Over time, SAL uses stage transition data to identify which outreach approaches, timing patterns, and research-informed personalizations are associated with positive stage progression. This calibration is gradual, it requires a sufficient number of completed cycles to produce reliable signals, but it improves SAL's outreach quality for campaigns run after sufficient data has accumulated.
Deliverability Monitoring
Outreach deliverability is a silent campaign killer. A campaign that is technically executing, messages are being sent, the sequence is running, can be delivering poorly because the sending domain has developed a reputation issue, a specific email service provider is treating the sending address as spam, or send patterns have triggered filtering rules.
SAL v1.3 now monitors deliverability indicators continuously and surfaces them in the pipeline briefing: bounce rate, open rate by domain/provider, reply rate trends, and domain reputation status (where available). When any indicator crosses a configured threshold, the default is conservative, SAL flags the situation as a deliverability alert in ZED's briefing.
Deliverability alerts require operator attention. SAL holds new outreach until the operator has reviewed the alert and either resolved the underlying issue or explicitly approved continued sending with the acknowledged risk.
Deployment Notes
v1.3 is a non-breaking update. Existing campaigns and sequences continue without modification.
Intent signal integration requires an intent data source connected through IAN's integration settings. If no intent data source is connected, this feature is inactive but does not affect SAL's other operations.
Account-level customization is available immediately for all accounts in existing and new campaigns. No migration is required.
Pipeline stage tracking begins accumulating data from the v1.3 deployment date. Existing pipeline accounts will show tracking data from deployment forward, not retroactively.
FAQ
Do I need to connect an intent data provider to benefit from v1.3? No. The enhanced research depth, account-level customization, pipeline stage tracking, and deliverability monitoring all function without an intent data source. Intent signal integration is additive.
Can account-level customization override the campaign sequence structure? No. Account-level customization modifies message content within the campaign sequence but does not change the sequence structure, timing, or number of touches. If you need fundamentally different sequence structures per account, create separate campaigns.
How does SAL handle a deliverability alert, does it stop all outreach? SAL holds new outreach to the affected domain or sending path until the alert is reviewed. Outreach to unaffected domains continues. The specificity of what gets held depends on where the deliverability signal is detected (specific provider, all outreach, specific domain pattern).
Key Changes Summary
- Intent signal integration: high-intent accounts prioritized in outreach sequence
- Enhanced research: recent company activity, decision-maker depth, competitive context
- Account-level customization: per-account content modifications within campaign sequences
- Pipeline stage tracking: timestamps and transition reasons for every stage movement
- Deliverability monitoring: continuous tracking with alert threshold configuration
